KENYA – the name is almost synonymous with the word “safari.” Few other places on the planet conjure such a spirit of adventure and romance. The diversity of things to do in Kenya dazzles all who visit, and viewing the country’s abundant wildlife tops the list.

The main gateway to Kenya is Nairobi, Africa’s largest city and the main hub for air and road safaris to Kenya’s diverse national parks and reserves. To the East of the capital, lie the vast and arid Tsavo East and Tsavo west National Parks, as well as the smaller Amboseli National park, famed for its elephants and views of Kilimanjaro.

West of Nairobi, the Great Rift Valley is home to Lake Nakuru National park and see throngs of wildebeest thundering across the savanna during the Great Maasai mara Migration in the peerless Maasai Mara National reserve.

North of Nairobi lies Mount Kenya, the untrammeled Meru National park, the arid Samburu Buffalo springs National conservancy and the private conservancies of the Laikipia plateau.

Further north lies the spectacularly remote Lake Turkana while the far southwest comprises the densely populated basin that holds Lake Victoria. Finally, along the coast lie the ancient Swahili towns of Mombasa, Kilifi, Malindi and Lamu and some beautiful beaches.
