This 12-day Tanzania safari offers a comprehensive wildlife experience. Starting in Arusha, the journey explores diverse ecosystems, including Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti (both central and western sectors), and the Ngorongoro Crater. Highlights include encounters with the “Big Five,” witnessing the Great Migration, and exploring unique landscapes like the Grumeti River and the Ngorongoro Crater. The itinerary features a mix of tented camps and lodges, providing comfortable accommodations and exceptional game-viewing opportunities.

Itinerary

Day 1 :
Arusha

Meet and greet at the Kilimanjaro international airport followed by a transfer to Gran Melia Hotel in Arusha where you are booked for dinner and overnight. The hotel is strategically located on the foot of Mount Meru and this makes it the perfect base for discovering the untamed natural beauty of Tanzania on safari

- Overnight: Gran Melia hotel (Half Board).

Day 2 :
Arusha

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge thereafter depart with picnic lunch boxes for a drive to Arusha National park (45 minute drive). Once in the park a walking safari will be arranged guided by a park ranger. This walk is about 2 hours. The walk will take you closer to buffalos, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, monkeys, baboons and millions of Flamingos. After the walk, there will be an afternoon game drive around the Momella lakes watching for millions of flamingos and Hippos. Later in the day return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Depart the lodge after breakfast for a drive to Tarangire National Park (2 hour drive). Enjoy hot lunch at the Maramboi luxury tented lodge where you will have lunch. Wildlife calls at the doors of Maramboi Tented Lodge and it not strange to see Zebras, giraffes, warthogs and gazelles peeking between the palm trees from the terrace of your exclusive tent.

In the afternoon, you’ll proceed for a game drive in search of Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Hundreds of Buffalos, Zebras, Wildebeest and thousands of antelopes and gazelles, before returning to your lodge for dinner. Night game drive can be arranged.

- Overnight: Maramboi Luxury tented lodge (Full Board).

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before proceeding for a morning game drive. Elephants can be seen walking down the hills towards the river to drink. The game drive will take you to Silale Swamp to search for the tree climbing pythons. Return to the lodge for hot lunch. The afternoon will be at leisure. A short nature walk can be arranged escorted by the native Masai.

- Overnight: Maramboi Luxury tented lodge (Full Board)

After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara airstrip which is an hours’ drive for your internal flight to Central Serengeti. You will be met at the Seronera airstrip and taken by a short game drive en route Serengeti Melia Lodge for hot lunch.

Afternoon game drive along the Seronera valley searching for the leoprads, cheetahs and lions, before returning to your lodge for dinner.

The Central Serengeti, lying at the heart of this spectacular national park, is the most popular region in the reserve for its abundant wildlife, large numbers of big cats and quintessential Serengeti landscapes of acacia-studded savanna. The Seronera River Valley, located in the south-central region of the park, is one of the most popular areas in the entire reserve. Known as the Big Cat Capital of Africa, the Seronera is rich in lion, leopard and cheetah – and people often spot all three in one day of game drives. Look for leopard around the Seronera River, which is home to one of Africa’s densest populations of the big cats, while lions can often be seen on the kopjes (rocky outcrops). The Serengeti Plains – the open savanna south of the Seronera River – are prime cheetah territory. Other animals to spot in the area’s varied habitats of rivers, swamps, kopjes and grasslands include elephant, hippos and crocodiles in the rivers, buffaloes, impala, topi, jackals and bat-eared foxes.

- Overnight: Serengeti Melia ( Full Board)

Depart after breakfast for Western Serengeti National Park with game drive en route. This drive will be very interesting as you will be driving from the open endless plains intro the savannah woodland. Thousands of wildlife will be seen along the way and, several stops will be normal. Hot lunch will be served at Kirawira tented lodge. Afternoon game along the Grumeti River searching for Nile crocodiles.

- Overnight: Kirawira luxury tented lodge (Full Board).

Enjoy the full day doing game drives. Stretching across to Lake Victoria, the Western Corridor (or West Serengeti) is a remote, little-visited area of the national park famed for the thrilling river crossings of the Grumeti River during the Great Migration between May and July. A huge valley bordered by hills that ends in Lake Victoria, the Western Corridor is made up of open savanna, woodlands, floodplains and riverine forest which are home to a great diversity of year-round wildlife, including elephant, giraffe, hippo, giant Nile crocodiles, rare Colobus monkeys and the localised kongoni antelope.

- Overnight: Kirawira tented lodge (Full Board)

After breakfast, drive for half an hour to Grumeti airstrip for your flight to Ngorongoro . Land at Manyara airstrip then transfer to Gibbs farm for lunch. Located on the outer slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater lies Gibb’s Farm. Founded in the 1920s as a coffee plantation, the Farm embraces traditional East African hospitality with roots that extend deep into the land and the African heritage. Recline with a cup of freshly roasted coffee overlooking the Great Rift Valley in lush surroundings.

Afternoon will be spent visiting the waterfalls, coffee plantation and the elephant caves.

- Overnight: Gibbs Farm. (Full Board)

Depart early in the morning for a drive to the Ngorongoro crater, the 8th wonder of the World. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth. Endangered black rhino are protected within its rim, giant tusked elephant wander the forests, male lion stalk the grasslands and flamingo crowd the soda lakes. Picnic lunch will be served by the Ngoitoktok hippo pool. Later in the afternoon drive back to Gibbs Farm for dinner.

- Overnight: Gibbs Farm

Take a short drive to Lake Manyara national park for a full day game view searching for tree climbing lions, giraffes, thousands of birds , baboons and monkeys. A drive along the lake will enable you to see millions of flamingos and other birds such as pelicans and fish eagles. This is the best spot to watch the Hippos at a close range. You will have a choice of having picnic lunch inside the park or at Kilimamoja Tented Lodge.

The lodge is nestled on the rim of the Great African Rift Valley with stunning views over Lake Manyara, Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day. It is set on pristine lush green gardens and local vegetation with over 130 species of birds. Afternoon at leisure.

Depart after breakfast for the transfer back to Kilimanjaro airport for your outbound flight.
